About Sina Theil

"On a mission to put Rock into Irish Country"

Originally from GermanySina Theil started playing piano and writing songs at the age of 7; picking up the guitar at 18 she has since flourished into an accomplished recording artist. Sina left Germany for Spain where she played with a local Spanish band and recorded her first demos before finally arriving in Dublin. Here she paved her way in the Irish Music Scene and became a student at the prestigious Music College BIMM. Funding her musical education through busking on the streets of Dublin, she gained invaluable experience and developed her performance skills as the lead singer of a rock group.

In 2017 Sina was signed to Downda Road Productions at which point she decided to pursue her music career full time. Since then Sina has scored nine No.1 singles plus 6 other top three tracks - topping all this off with her debut album “Under Cover” charting at Number 1 in the Irish Country Download Charts and Number 5 in the Overall Irish Download Album Charts. This album encapsulates a collection of songs that have accompanied her and her manager Mike Gleeson on the road whilst gigging relentlessly up and down the country.

Sina's new singles "Rock & Roll to My Country Soul" and b-side "Johnny B. Goode" were released on the 28th of February and charted at #1 & #2 in the Irish Country Download Charts. Her upcoming single "East Bound and Down", a reworking of the Jerry Reed classic from Smokey and the Bandit, is being released in conjunction with Irelands biggest annual truck show "Full of the Pipe" and expected to be available on the 8th of May.

To date, Sina’s songs have been played on many Irish radio stations including C103, Clare FM, Midwest Radio, Midlands 103, KFM Radio, Ocean FM, Radio Kerry, RED FM, Shannonside / Northern Sound, Highland Radio, Galway Bay Radio, LMFM, Tipp FM, WLR, RTE RnaG and many more! Her music has racked up over 6.13 million radio listener impressions and 2,280 radio plays on the Island of Ireland as registered by Radiomonitor. She has been awarded “Song of the Week” on Highland Radio, KFM, Dundalk FM, Way Out Radio and Belgium Country Radio, and her debut album "Under Cover" was voted as one of 2018's top albums by the listeners of K Country on Kildare's Kfm Radio. She now also presents her own weekly radio show "Country Rocks" on Carlow FM (usually Tuesdays 8-10PM) sponsored by ISS Recruitment and HR Services.

Furthermore; Sina has been featured and interviewed on Hot Country TV and Keep It Country TV, and is nominated for an award at this years' Hot Country TV Awards, which will take place on the 29th of April at the Slieve Russel Hotel (Cavan), where herself and her band will also be performing. She has also appeared in RSVP Magazine, The Irish World, The Irish Mirror and various other press publications. A chance recording of her re-working of “Galway Girl” outside McHale Park in Mayo has also gone viral and received close to 100,000 views.

In 2018, Sina Theil and her band opened for the Remembering the Legends Show, performing at many of the countries' top hotels and venues. The tour culminated in a very memorable night at the Helix, Dublin.

During her recent promotional tour of Thailand, the Bangkok guitar manufacturer Black Sheep Guitars made Sina a brand ambassador and gifted her one of their hand crafted guitars.

Recently she was also made a goodwill ambassador of Irish registered charity Touch Ireland, who aid youths and communities in developing countries to the likes of Zambia, Nepal, etc.

Sina Theil & Downda Road Productions have a lot in the pipeline for 2019, including an exciting collaboration with acclaimed singer-songwriter SON (aka Susan O'Neill; vocalist with King Kong Company and guest performer on the Sharon Shannon tour), an original single & album which are already well in the making and much more.
